Jounieh’s municipality just announced that the Old Souk will officially become pedestrian-only on weekends, giving visitors a chance to enjoy its lively streets without the traffic and noise.

Starting this Friday, the new schedule will see the souk closed to vehicles and motorcycles from 7 PM until 4 AM on Friday nights, and then continuously from 7 PM Saturday until 4 AM Monday.

The move aims to make the historic seaside street more walkable and family-friendly, creating a safer and more relaxed atmosphere for locals and tourists to explore its cafés, bars, and shops.
