Lebanon is finally launching a low-cost carrier. Fly Beirut, owned by Middle East Airlines, is set to begin operations in early 2027.

The announcement was made by MEA Chairman Mohammad Hout, who said the new airline will offer passengers a cheaper but reliable option. Reports about a budget airline first surfaced in June.

Hout also said six new aircraft will be added to MEA’s fleet next year.

He noted that the broader plan includes restoring Beirut’s role as a maintenance hub for international airlines, something Lebanon aims to bring back in the coming years.
