Mayyas are returning to Beirut with a new performance that draws from the life and words of Gibran Khalil Gibran, and it’s shaping up to be one of their most meaningful shows yet.

Titled Al Awda, or The Return, the performance is a semi-fictional narrative inspired by Gibran’s journey, his struggles, his revelations, and the ideas that shaped The Prophet.

Through carefully layered choreography, Mayyas explore the connection between the artist’s lived experiences and the words that made him one of Lebanon’s most influential writers.

Rather than retelling a biography in a traditional sense, the show translates Gibran’s inner world into movement.

His reflections, doubts, and breakthroughs are expressed through the group’s signature precision and emotion, inviting the audience to experience his work beyond ink and paper.

Al Awda will take place on January 3 and 4 at Seaside Arena in Beirut, starting at 8:30 PM. Tickets start at $50 and are available here.

Mayyas rose to global fame after winning America’s Got Talent in 2022, taking home the $1 million prize and becoming the first dance group from Lebanon to do so.

They were later awarded the Lebanese Gold Medal of Merit, recognizing their cultural impact and international success.

This upcoming performance marks another return home, not just to Beirut, but to a story deeply rooted in Lebanon’s artistic and literary legacy.
