FPM seen retreating from Berri’s 24-member Cabinet pitch

The Free Patriotic Movement appears to be backing off from its support for a proposed Cabinet of 24 nonpartisan specialists with no veto power to any side, a political source said Monday, in the FPM’s latest blow to attempts to form a government desperately needed to enact urgent reforms and avert the country’s all-out economic collapse.
