As violence spikes, the killing of an unarmed Palestinian mother highlights awful toll of occupation

Ghada Sabateen, an unarmed mother of six, died from her wounds after being shot in the legs by Israeli forces near a checkpoint in the West Bank, after the Israeli army said she failed to heed verbal warnings and ran toward them. Her children say she was “full of love and kindness” and always tried to stay out of conflict.
