Who Is Laura El-Khazen Lahoud, Lebanon’s New Minister of Tourism
Laura Khazen Lahoud is a distinguished figure in tourism and culture.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of London and a master’s degree in Mathematics and Operational Research from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Currently, Lahoud serves as the Executive Vice President of the Al Bustan International Festival, one of Lebanon’s most prominent cultural events during winter. The festival attracts renowned global music ensembles and artists each year.
In addition to her role at the festival, Laura has a strong academic background and extensive expertise in economic and administrative sectors. She is a board member at C.A.T. Group and the managing director of Al Bustan Hotel & Spa.
One of her priorities in this role is focusing on enhancing investment in tourism infrastructure, along with developing strategies to market Lebanon as a global tourist destination. Laura believes that tourism in Lebanon is not only an economic source but also an integral part of national identity and culture.
Therefore, she emphasizes the need for coordination between the public and private sectors to ensure the provision of an attractive and safe tourism environment, which contributes to attracting tourists from all over the world.
